Cannon is my great 33.5 inch driving donkey, born in 1989. He was 1996 NMDA
National Grand Champion Green Performance Donkey and sire of the 1995
NMDA National First Place Miniature Foal J-Bar Farms' Luna.
Cannon also took Reserve Hi-Point Jack at the 1997 Pacific Crest
all-miniature donkey show.
Cannon's excellent disposition and quiet manner make him a joy to
be around. He is a very dark brown bay and a color producer. Cannon is now retired
from breeding, but he will always get top billing! Color genetics:
BbAaCCdd(Ee)ggRnrn(oo)ttSS.
Cannon LOVES to pull! His favorite sport is snigging, or log pulling as it's called down under. He also really enjoys parades and giving cart rides to kids. Candi often donates the proceeds from cart rides to donkey welfare funds for care of rescued donkeys in the Northwest. For lots more photos of Cannon, go to the herdsire page.
After a long search, the sorrel breeding program is coming back on track! Sedona is
a gorgeous dark sorrel, born 10/22/03 at only 19". Mature height 32-7/8". He
has such a soft personality and solid conformation! I didn't think I'd ever find a jack like Cannon in
disposition, but Sedona is really growing into a wonderful herdsire. His foal crops are impressive, with improvements made over their dams in smaller size and better conformation. Sedona's bloodlines (My World, Sunset Acres, Red Baron) are clicking well with the sorrel lines I
have in my jennets (Red Baron, Winchester, Lazy N) and wonderful red
babies grace my pastures! Sedona is standing at stud at J-Bar Farms (fee $400).
For more photos of Sedona and his sire/grandsire, go to the herdsire page.
This amazingly sweet little gelding is full brother to J-Bar Farms' Blue Moon, J-Bar Farms' Naniloa, (see
Sold Donkeys page) and J-Bar Farms'
Momi. He is a
very dark brown bay like his sire RVB Cannon (HOF). Kahuna
will be retained at J-Bar Farms as companion for Sedona and Cannon. He has the wonderful Cannon disposition as well as his own deep
magic. Kahuna is draftier than his sire. Photo taken
July 2003, age two, height 30.5 inches.
Salome is a nice 33-5/8" sorrel jennet born 2/7/01 by 758's Tanah Merah (34" sorrel) out of
758's Joy Luck (33" brown). Salome is doing well in her Oregon home and we're enjoying
her lovely disposition. She is a very sweet and soft soul (Salome means
"tranquil") and a wonderful addition to the herd. Salome has been bred to Sedona for a 2010 foal.
Here she is, the first daughter of LN JBF Red Moon born in 2000. Mahina was 22 inches
tall at birth, a dark rose dun of 32.25" mature height. She carries the sorrel gene and is a proven color producer.
Mahina is a very compact and well-built little jennet
with personality plus, now grown into the herd matriarch. (Photo taken 9/1/06)
Kamalani is a 35" red rose dun jennet born June 2001 out of Feather Ridge's Betsy & sired by
LN JBF Red Moon. She's very vigorous and healthy, with that winning Red Moon
personality and carrying the sorrel gene! Kamalani has matured into a solid jennet and a cross with Sedona
has produced something special See Makana's info, as this sorrel girl is also available! Circumstances dictate that Kamalani be offered for sale. Don't wait, as she
is a prime young brood jennet with years of lovely foals ahead of her. Kamalani is available at special pricing until sold, and has been bred to Sedona for a 2010 foal.
WoW! Gorgeous dark rose-dun Hula was born 5/3/04 out of Feather Ridge's Betsy by RVB Cannon (HOF).
She is a nicely
straight and correct jennet and has developed into quite a sweetheart like her momma. This is
Betsy's first Cannon foal and I couldn't be
happier with Hula. I have a lot of Betsy’s genetics however, so Hula is available to join
your breeding program! She's turning into quite a nice breeding jennet, and still very soft in disposition.
Hula foaled a very dark brown bay jennet to Sedona (sorrel) on July 2, 2008. Hula is a dark rose dun in color and mature
height is 33.25". She is open at this time and can be bred to Sedona for a reduced fee. Photo 9/1/06.
"Ilihia" means stricken with awe or thrilled, as with beauty. I've been breeding little donkeys for 17 years, and I've never been so taken with a foal! This stunning 22" rose dun was born 5/26/05 out of Alex by My World Vincent.
(Ilihia) has such balance and strength throughout, it's difficult to pick just one great thing to say about her. This little girl has the best pelvic structure I've seen, great legs and strong clean joints.
Photo 9/1/06, 1.5 years old. This little girl is a keeper for sure! Mature height 30 inches.
Kamalani has gifted me with Sedona's first foal on 4/23/07, and my first sorrel jennet foal! Makana means "gift, and she's a beauty, and the culmination of my
sorrel dreams. I've waited 10 years for a sorrel jennet, and here she is. Available now!
I'm so pleased to present another LN JBF Red Moon daughter to the world! Born 6/8/07 (photo at two days old), Lokenani
is indeed a beautiful rose in my herd. I took a chance in 2006 and hauled Salome up to eastern Washington for breeding to
Red Moon on an overnight trip when her foal Maluhia was a month old. One breeding produced this graceful little girl.
She will be retained in the J-Bar Farms breeding herd.
